A collection of 2^7 = 128 images showing artificially generated characters laughing at the old currency
"AI laughing at your currency" is a series of 128 images generated by DALL-E in 2022. The images were created with a cut image of a one dollar note and autocompleted by the AI. Different prompts (e.g. "cyberpunk portrait of female looking creature in a world without property laughing at NFTs and society") were used to create a set of unique looking characters that look gloatingly laughing at and inside the sheet of paper society once used as a form of value store. The selection shown is a curated subset (by humans) from the over 1000 images generated at the cost of ~ 150 US $. While the focus of the artworks is on machines making fun of their creators, we can also observe AI interpretations of contemporary crisis that are deeply interconnected with the displayed currency. The collection was originally minted and released on raresama, a user curated NFT platform on the Kusama Blockchain. Expect laughs, expect chaos!
